Ted Hellman honored with 2001 Man of Achievement Award
WORCESTER, MA— Ted Hellman was honored with the Man of Achievement by the Phi Kappa Theta Foundation. The Man of Achievement Award, started in 1980 and awarded by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, is the highest honor bestowed upon Brothers of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. The award recognizes members who have risen to prominence in their chosen fields of endeavor. Hellman was recognized during the Fraternity’s National Meeting. in 2001.
Ted worked at Proctor & Gamble from 1972-1998 in a number of roles, including: consumer products manufacturer, customer business development manager, campus relations director, and a number of other positions. For a short period in his career, Hellman played professional soccer for the Dallas Tornado’s in 1974. Lastly, Hellman became the owner of Brown Hound Investments in 1999.
Hellman has been actively involved in number of organizations. He served on the Dept. of Marketing and MBA advisory boards for the University of Missouri: College of Business and Public Administration Strategic Management Team. He is on the Sanit Louis Science Center operations committee and is a Trustee. He is also a Saint Louis University, High School Trustee. He is a co-founder of the T.W. Hellman Educational Foundation. In addition to being a member of Phi Kappa Theta, he was also in Delta Sigma Pi, a business fraternity at the University of Missouri.
Hellman earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Missouri, where he was initiated into the Missouri Kappa Upsilon chapter of Phi Kappa Theta and later went on to become chapter president. He then went on to obtain his M.B.A. in Marketing.
