Peter Pezaris honored with 2013 Man of Achievement Award

CHICAGO, IL— Peter Pezaris was honored with the Man of Achievement by the Phi Kappa Theta Foundation. The Man of Achievement Award, started in 1980 and awarded by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, is the highest honor bestowed upon Brothers of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity.  The award recognizes members who have risen to prominence in their chosen fields of endeavor. Pezaris was recognized during the Fraternity’s 2013 Biennial Convention in Chicago, IL.

Early in his career, Pezaris served as a Systems and Software Developer for the Investment Banking Firms of Bankers Trust and Salomon Brothers. before becoming the founder and CEO of Multiply, Inc., an innovation leader in both social networking and social commerce. In 2010, Multiply was purchased by Naspers, Inc. He later founded and was CEO of Glip, Inc, a private startup in the business communications space.

Pezaris also revolutionized the world of online Fantasy Sports. From 1995-1999, he was the founder and CEO of Commissioner.com, the market leader in Fantasy Sports, prior to its acquisition by CBS. Commissioner.com provided the official fantasy games for CBS, NFL, AOL, CNN and Major League Baseball, among others. After the acquisition, Mr. Pezaris served as President of Operations at CBS from 2000-2003. Mr. Pezaris was the eighth inductee into the Fantasy Sports Hall of Fame, and was named to Sports Business Journal’s “Forty under 40” list, which recognizes the most promising young executives in the sports business.

Peter earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Carnegie-Mellon University, where he was initiated into the Pennsylvania Rho chapter of Phi Kappa Theta.
