Nicholas Scalera honored with 2011 Man of Achievement Award
INDIANAPOLIS, IN— Nicholas Scalera was honored with the Man of Achievement by the Phi Kappa Theta Foundation. The Man of Achievement Award, started in 1980 and awarded by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, is the highest honor bestowed upon Brothers of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. The award recognizes members who have risen to prominence in their chosen fields of endeavor. Scalera was recognized during the Fraternity’s 2011 Biennial Convention in Indianapolis, IN.
Nicholas started Scalera Consulting Services in 1995, a management consulting firm that specializes in child care, child welfare, human services, and human care licensing in the Bloomfield, New Jersey area. He was also a Corporate Consultant on Youth Services for the Community Education Centers (CEC), a private corporation providing community treatment centers and residential facilities for troubled youth.
Scalera’s contributions in the field of education have earned him considerable recognition by various organizations. In 1994, he received the Public Administrator of the Year Award from the American Society for Public Administrators (ASPA). He was awarded the Humanitarian Award in 2006 and the Man of Valor Award in 2008, for his lifelong service to troubled children and families.
Scalera earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Seton Hall University, where he was initiated into the New Jersey Phi Beta chapter of Phi Kappa Theta.
